Foundation After Midnight Ep 02 Production Update

We are currently working on making a second episode of Foundation After Midnight Radio, as the title of this post suggests. Bet ya didn't see that coming did ya? With the first episode, we were starting things off and trying to lay the ground work for future events and segments. Since the Foundation Space Program's plan to send dangerous scips into the sun failed in the first episode, the second episode will start to reveal just how miserably it have failed.

682 coming back as a fiery space lizard of death? Keter cakes blocking out the sky? Anyone who looks into the sun hearing a distinguished British voice speaking as well as a dreadful ticking sound? Shit is hitting the fan and the fan is only spinning faster.

Beyond progressing the story we've set up, we're working on the format and pacing, seeing what works and how best to improve your listening experience. If you haven't noticed, we'd like to be doing a lot more of these in the future, so we're always looking for ways to improve. Thank you all for reading, listening and giving us feedback! Greatly appreciate you checking out our work!

FAQs for FAM

Q: What's SCP?
A: How did you find this? SCP is short for "Secure. Contain. Protect." the slogan of the Foundation, which locates and conceals items and beings with strange properties. SCP is also the beginning of their cataloguing name, followed by a number (i.e. SCP-682, SCP-2000, etc.). In short, anything having to do with SCP is otherworldly and a tad scary.

Q: How can I get in touch with you to give my gripes/compliments/dowry?
A: We have an email account set up for you to best contact us. Shoot us a message at SCP93.FAMRadio [at] gmail.com. Subject heading "MAIL" for general emails.

Q: Wouldn't broadcasting top secret information be stupid?
A: We prefer the term "unrealistic" but yes it would be, but this is not a serious broadcast. This podcast may be based in a loose Foundation universe, but it is made for the fans of the SCP Foundation Wiki.

Q: Is the hotline number real?
A: Yes it is! We encourage you to give it a call and leave us a message sometime!

The lines are open! Call (512) 93R-ADIO now to leave a message for DJ Scip!

All messages are considered submitted content and may possibly be used in future episodes. All messages received will fall under the creative commons 3.0 license. Standard calling charges may apply.

Q: Can I be a part of Foundation After Midnight?
A: While we are interested in including more people in the future, at this time we are still getting of the hang of things and our crew is pretty skeletal. You can send us an email with a link to your voice reel, writing samples or SCP related ideas and we'll keep you in mind when more opportunities arise!

Note: Anything sent to us will be considered submitted content and is subject to possible use in the Foundation After Midnight podcast, which falls under the creative commons 3.0 license. If you are uncomfortable with this, please do not send your content to us.

If you have a specific inquirier or want to send us your work for possible consideration for future episodes, send us an email at SCP93.FAMRadio@gmail.com. Subject heading "COLLAB" for collaboration proposals.

Q: What does "submitted content" mean in regards to the podcast?
A: In short, anything submitted to us at the Foundation After Midnight Radio, via email, comment, message or recording, may be considered for possible use in future episodes. We pull from a wide range of sources across the SCP universe for inspiration and fan submitted content is no exception. While we try to credit authors and creators whenever we can, sometimes an idea inspires us and sparks a whole new thing. Other times, we might come up with a very similar idea to someone else's without ever knowing about each other!

To try to sum it up again, anything sent to us will be considered a submission to the Foundation After Might Radio, a work based on the SCP Foundation, and will be released under the creative commons license 3.0 and could find its way into a future work. If you don't want your idea or work used like this, than please do not send it to us.

Q: What does the creative commons 3.0 license mean?
A: Any content based on the SCP Foundation is itself under Creative Commons and shared under the same rules. The first requirement under Creative Commons is "attribution." Any derivative works (work based on the SCP Foundation) must attribute back to the SCP Foundation wiki. You can do this by providing a link back to the SCP Foundation Wiki as a whole, or the original source article you use in your work.

SCP Wiki Licensing Guide page: http://www.scp-wiki.net/licensing-guide

This link is helpful in explaining the ins and outs of the license and what it means: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/

Q: Can I use your audio?
A: Yes you may. We would love to see what you can create and may even be able to help out in some way. We are also listed under the creative commons license so you can use content from our podcast as along as your work,

A) Also falls under the creative commons license,
and
B). Gives credit back to us.

Proper attribution looks something like this:
(name of the work here) is based on "Foundation After Midnight Radio" by "Toad King Studios": https://www.facebook.com/SCPFAMRadio

Q: Hey, that's [blank]'s stuff!
A: All SCP Foundation material is under the creative commons license which means any, and every, one can use SCP related materials in their own works.

One Last Note…

We love our fan community. We've seen them do incredible things, ranging from entire video games to fanfictions to voice acting work. This is why we've set up this page, to try and protect them from getting in trouble.

But there is one thing we want to make perfectly clear: SCP Foundation was born of open collaboration, and it will continue to do so. It's no surprise that, after all these years, we are still a wiki. We abide by certain rules of conduct out of respect for each other, but in the end, the entirety of our existence is based on that open collaboration.

If you join us, by creating a derivative or remix, you will become a part of this community of open collaboration. On the one hand, it means that you will no longer own, in entirety, what you create: it will become part of the sandbox for every fan of the SCP Foundation to play with. On the other hand, you'll also have the opportunity to watch your little piece of the sandcastle grow under the hands of many other creators.

We hope you'll decide to pick up a bucket and spade and join in.

Yours Sincerely, on behalf of the entire SCP Foundation community,

"Dr. Clef."

Q: What programs do you use?
A: We primarily just use Audacity for recording, Adobe After Effects for any visual animations, Sony Vegas 12 for editing and Adobe Photoshop for all art related work
